Embarking on a Journey of Self-Care

At the age of 13 I was involved in a serious accident, which left me having operations and in a wheel chair for sometime. It was thought at the time I had lost my sense of smell forever. Over the years my sense of smell regained and I fully appreciated the scents that others may not notice. Scents became an enjoyable part of my life and I found it changed my mood.

In 2016, amidst the demands of corporate life and the challenges of single parenthood, I sought solace in an unexpected place – candle making. As the flame flickered, so did my spirits. Crafting candles became more than a creative outlet; it became my therapy. A single mum striving to provide the best for her daughter, I realised the importance of self-care, and lighting a candle after a tough day became my ritual to lift my mood.

Having explored countless candles over the years, I found myself yearning for scents that were not only captivating but also left my space clean and uplifting. Disappointed by the lack of such options, I decided to create them myself.

Back in 2004, I curated a pamper shop, immersing myself in the art of gifting. The joy of creating meaningful presents and crafting moments of delight became the heartbeat of my endeavour. Even as life led me down different paths, the essence of gifting remained etched in my soul. Now, with Tripps of Somerset, the journey has come full circle. Each candle is not just a product; it's a testament to the enduring spirit of gifting and the transformative power of self-care.

Understanding the profound impact of scents on well-being, I delved into crafting candles that not only filled homes with delightful aromas but also contributed to a cleaner, cosier environment. Tripps of Somerset was born out of this passion for self-care and the belief that every inhale should bring joy.

For me, each candle or wax melt is more than a product; it's a moment of self-care, a therapeutic pause in the chaos of life.
